Invite YOU to enter our PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION TO
CAPTURE THE SPIRIT OF VOLUNTEERING IN
THE COUNTY OF DÚN LAOGHAIRE-RATHDOWN
Enter our photo competition to celebrate the European Year of Volunteering 2011. The 12 winning photographs will be used in the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown 2011 European Year of Volunteering Calendar – together for exhibitions, promoting volunteers and their organisations and other media publications.
ALL ENTRIES WILL BE EXHIBITED DURING SOCIAL INCLUSION WEEK 2010
GREAT PRIZES TO BE WON INCLUDING:
€250 FOR FIRST PRIZE
€150 FOR SECOND PRIZE
€75 FOR THIRD PRIZE
CLOSING DATE 13th September 2010
TO ENTER:
- Take a photo that captures the spirit of volunteering in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown

Send your entry (both a hard and electronic copy) to the DLR Volunteer Centre to be received no later than 13 September 2010

Please remember to include your name, address, telephone number, email address, number of photographs enclosed and a description of photos including any voluntary organisations

Photos received without contact details will not be used
Don’t forget to send both a hard and electronic copy and enclose your contact details
COMPETITION RULES:
- Ensure that
the people in the photo are aware that the picture has been entered
in a competition. If a person is clearly recognisable we will seek a release form from the photographer for
that person.

The competition is open only to non-professional photographers

You may enter up to 4 photographs

Photographs must have been taken in the last year and not previously published
-
The photo must clearly show volunteering in action

The photographs must be in high-resolution jpg formats only, of a minimum of 300dpi. Please also remember to submit uncompressed digital files

The filename you give to the image(s) will become the display name on our image library. It is therefore very important to give images a filename thatdescribes the content of the image.

In accordance with national Children First Child Protection Guidelines, children cannot be photographed without written parental consent. Please refer to these guidelines for further clarification if photographing children.

The organisers reserve the right to free reproduction and exhibition of all entries, with acknowledgement of the photographer where possible

Photographs (CDs, Memory Sticks etc.) can not be returned

A panel of judges will choose the winning and commended entries. This decision is final
-
The winner and runners up will by notified in early October and these photographs will be displayed during Social Inclusion Week 2010 and throughout 2011.
