We believe in the ethos of volunteering and that it is an important expression of civic engagement. Our mission is to help individuals find meaningful opportunities to volunteer and to build the capacity of not-for-profit organisations to involve volunteers in their work. We are currently recruiting for an Outreach Placement Officer (part-time) to join our staff team to assist in the delivery of our placement service.

New RTÉ programme “Dirty Old Towns?” cleans up towns

RTÉ One TelevisionDirty Old Towns? in a national campaign to give Ireland's dirtiest towns their pride of place back.  The programme is supported by the Dulux Let's Colour Project.
The campaign will involve local volunteers coming together to change their towns in a positive way.  Speaking about the show today, Diarmuid Gavin said: "It's a brilliant idea. We're at a time in Ireland where I think we all have to take responsibility for ourselves, for society (there's no money left)."

Information on the role of Director on the Board of Fingal Volunteer Centre limited 

Commitment Expected from each Director of Fingal Volunteer Centre:

  • To promote & work towards the objectives of the company as defined in the Memorandum of Association
  • To contribute to the future direction & strategic planning of the organisation therefore enabling it to further achieve its objectives
  • To be objective & honest in their dealings with the Board and to work in the best interests of the organisation at all times.
  • To attend and contribute to all meetings and to participate in sub-committees as agreed by the Board.
  • To use their specific skills, knowledge or experience to contribute to decision making in the best interests of the organisation
  • To treat matters within the organisation as confidential and abide by decisions taken.
  • To involved in the recruitment and supervision of the Manager of Fingal Volunteer Centre.
  • To attend occasional functions and events to represent the Centre as agreed by the Board.
