National Volunteering Week: Postponed until September 2020

We’re sad to announce that Volunteer Ireland and the network of Volunteer Centres have decided to postpone National Volunteering Week 2020. Volunteer Centres around the country are all working hard on the response to COVID-19: supporting organisations, engaging with volunteers and working with the Community Call.

So many people have offered their support during this time, and along with the hundreds of thousands of people that volunteer throughout the year, we want to make sure we have the time and resources to deliver the National Volunteering Week that you all deserve. National Volunteering Week 2020 will take place from 21st – 27th September and will be a huge celebration of how we all came together to support our friends, neighbours and communities during the toughest of time.

We will still be marking what should have been National Volunteering Week (18-24 May) in a couple of ways so keep an eye on our social media. We want to take time to share and celebrate some of the amazing volunteers, organisations and projects that are happening in our county during COVID-19.

We hope you understand our decision and will join us in celebrating an official #NVW2020 later in the year.
