This year Volunteer Ireland is co-ordinating Ireland’s first National Volunteering Week from May 14th– May 20th. National Volunteering Week is the one week of the year when we encourage everyone in Ireland to give volunteering a try, so that everyone can learn that – even if it’s only for a minute, an hour, or a day – volunteering can make a big difference and be a lot of fun! This is a fantastic opportunity for you to showcase your organisation and recruit new volunteers.
National Volunteering Week gives you plenty of scope to get involved, organise creative events and to show how volunteering can be lots of fun!
Here are a few ways you get involved:
Organise your own project
Organising your own event is a great way to spread the word about your organisation, tackle a large or daunting task and perhaps recruit more volunteers in the process. Whether you require assistance sourcing volunteers or not, don’t forget to take a few minutes and let us know about your event so we can count you in!
Brand an existing project as an NVW event
Use National Volunteering Week to promote an existing event or volunteering opportunity. If you require additional volunteers, you can register the project and number of participants needed with Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Volunteer Centre or on our main website www.volunteer.ie
