Dublin City South Volunteer Centre is the primary resource for both volunteers and volunteer-involving organisations in the Dublin City South area. We believe in the ethos of volunteering and that it is an important expression of civic engagement. Our mission is to help individuals find meaningful opportunities to volunteer and to build the capacity of not-for-profit organisations to involve volunteers in their work. We are currently recruiting for an Outreach Placement Officer (part-time) to join our staff team to assist in the delivery of our placement service.
Overview of Role: The Outreach Placement Officer is responsible for assisting the current staff team to deliver a comprehensive and accessible volunteer placement and organisational support service across Dublin City South.
The post holder will play a key role in working collaboratively with local Partnership Companies to meet shared objectives in the areas of volunteer recruitment, promotion of volunteering and support to volunteer-involving organisations.
Key areas of work will be:
• To recruit volunteers, matching them to volunteering opportunities in local organisations across the Dublin City South area
• To support volunteers throughout the placement process, including following up with volunteers to assess quality of their placement
• To identify areas of need, under-represented groups and barriers to volunteering with a view of developing strategies to respond to these needs and gaps
• To work closely with the staff team to enhance the services of the Centre and meet the targets set out in the work plan.
