National Volunteering Week is here!

Monday 21st – Sunday 27th September

About National Volunteering Week

National Volunteering Week is the annual week where we celebrate all things volunteering. National Volunteering Week usually takes place during the third week of May but due to the COVID-19 pandemic was postponed this year until September. This year the week will have a dual focus – thanking volunteers and organisations for everything they have done this year and encouraging them to focus on their own health and well-being.

Locally, we will be running an online campaign to highlight the wonderful work of volunteers organisations in Dún Laoghaire Rathdown and to thank them for their contribution. We’ll also be highlighting the importance of wellbeing as part of this campaign and offering a variety of related events to registered volunteers and organisations. You can join in #NVW2020 by attending an event, engaging with the social media campaign or simply saying “thank you” to a volunteer in your life.

“Volunteers do so much for our communities every day. Now is our chance to give something back to these extraordinary people who give so much for others. We’d like to encourage anyone that has been impacted by a volunteer to take a moment to say thank you.”

Claire Carroll, Manager
